Other attractions include The Georgia Mountain Fair, Appalachian Trail, John Campbell Folk School, Nantahala Gorge, Chunky Gals Stables, Harrah's Casino, several trout streams and white water rafting.  Sit on your deck and watch the beautiful sunsets over the lake. 

The nearest golf course is The Ridges At Mountain Harbour.  It is a fabulous course and literally a five minute drive.  Also very close is Chatuge Shores Country Club.  Both of those are near charming Hayesville in Clay Co. NC.  Within 30 minutes are Cherokee Hills Country Club (Murphy NC); Brasstown Resort and Golf Course (Young Harris, GA); and Butternut Creek Country Club (Blairsville GA).  In addition to those things, you can visit the Chamber of Commerce in Clay Co. NC (where the Villa is) and Towns Co. GA.  Towns Co. is the home of Hiawassee GA and Young Harris GA, two charming towns.  Although the Villa is in NC, Hiawassee is the closest town.  In Hiawassee, there is a Fall Festival each October and it is pretty spectacular.  They have first rate crafts, folk art demonstrations, blue grass music, etc.
